YAKKITY CLOCK FOR WINDOWS
VERSION 2.00
_______________________________________________________________

Please take the time to review this file before installing and
running Yakkity Clock 2.00

INTRODUCTION
------------
Yakkity Clock is an easy to use talking clock utility for the
Microsoft Windows operating environment.

Yakkity Clock literally "tells" you the time at the press of a
button -- or at easily configured intervals from once every hour
to once every minute. A number of built-in sound effects can be
substituted for the "interval" voice time -- you can even set up
Yakkity Clock to bark like a dog!

Yakkity Clock is an alarm clock, too! Up to four independent
alarms can be set and enabled quickly and easily. Plus, the
alarm feature can be configured to play either of the two
standard sounds OR any stand-alone .WAV sound file located in
the Yakkity Clock directory!

Yakkity Clock is a talking clock accessory for the Microsoft
Windows operating environment. The Yakkity Clock executable is a
16-bit application, designed to run on Windows 3.1x, Windows for
Workgroups, Windows 95 or later, or Windows NT.

Yakkity Clock can function as a simple clock application,
reporting the current time at the press of a button or at
user-defined intervals. The clock offers users their choice of
male or female voices for voice-time announcements. The program's
four independent alarms can be configured to play sound or music
just like a clock radio. Available alarm sounds include the
program's default "built-in" sounds, waveform audio (*.WAV) files,
MIDI sequencer (*.MID) music files, or audio CD discs.

Yakkity Clock alarms can also be configured to launch assigned
applications, making the program a handy tool both for scheduling
and automating tasks.

INSTALLATION
------------
* EVALUATION VERSION INSTALLATION
The evaluation version of Yakkity Clock 2.0 is distributed in
"ZIP" archives -- either YCLK200.ZIP or a self-extracting
archive, YCLK200.EXE. Both archive files are available for
download from the Pegasus Development web site...

http://www.imktg.com/pegasus

Both archives contain all of the Yakkity Clock program files
in compressed format.

To extract the Yakkity Clock program files from YCLK200.ZIP,
you will need an unZIP utility (e.g., PkUNZIP or WinZIP).
You may wish to create a destination directory for Yakkity
Clock and copy YCLK200.ZIP to that directory before extracting
the program files.

The YCLK200.EXE archive is a Windows-hosted self-extracting
executable. To extract the Yakkity Clock program files from
YCLK200.EXE, simply run the executable as you would any
Windows application. A dialog box will appear prompting you
for a destination directory for the Yakkity Clock program
files (the self-extracting archive will create the
destination directory for you).

* REGISTERED VERSION INSTALLATION
The registered version of Yakkity Clock 2.0 includes an
installation utility which will copy the required program files
to a directory of your choice and will add the necessary Yakkity
Clock shortcuts to your Taskbar Start Menu (or Program Manager
groups, if you are using an older version of Windows).

To use the installation utility, simply run INSTALL.EXE from
the Yakkity Clock floppy disk.

If the installation utility is not available, you can create a
destination directory on your hard disk and manually copy the
contents of the floppy disk to that directory (see the "Quick
& Dirty Installation" section for step-by-step instructions).

* QUICK & DIRTY INSTALLATION
We recommend that you make a backup copy of the master program
disk (or ZIP archive) before installing or running Yakkity Clock.
We also recommend that this program be installed to, and run from,
a hard disk.

To get Yakkity Clock loaded and running with a minimum of fuss,
simply create a new directory or subdirectory on your hard disk
(e.g., C:\YAKCLOCK or C:\WINAPPS\YAKCLOCK) and copy the entire
contents of your master disk (or ZIP archive) to that new
directory.

You may assign a Taskbar Start Menu shortcut -- or Program Manager
icon, if you are running an older version of Windows -- for
launching Yakkity Clock's executable (YAKCLOCK.EXE). Refer to your
Windows documentation and/or user's manuals for instructions re.
setting up applications.

Once running, all Yakkity Clock configuration controls are
accessed from the program's menu bar. A complete summary of all
menu commands is provided in the Yakkity Clock help file
(YAKCLOCK.HLP).

READ ALL ABOUT IT
-----------------
Hypertext program documentation is supplied in the YAKCLOCK.HLP
file. This is a Windows Help System format file, which can be
loaded and viewed with Windows Help -- and is directly accessed
from within Yakkity Clock via the menu bar "Help / Contents"
command.

This file contains all the information you need to install and run
this program. The Windows Help System includes the provision for
easily printing any topic or topics from the YAKCLOCK.HLP file.
This handy feature can be used to turn your "manual on disk" into
hard copy for future reference.
